Festival of learning

A few weeks ago we were asked to take part in a skills fair, and we jumped at the chance to show that knitting was (a) not for grannies and (b) not all about aran jumpers.

Wednesday was quite a nerve wrecking day. It all started with the traffic bring a nightmare which caused us all to be late.
When we all finally got there we put together what can only be described as the best looking stand there:

We brought the things we believed people wouldn’t have ordinarily have seen e.g the drop spindle, knitting machine, looms and the swift and ball winder.

It seems the weird things really enticed the boys into having a go!
We really had a fun day promoting the group

And plenty of info cards were given out

If they council decide to repeat the event next year, we’re ready for it!
