A skein is for life…

Picture the scene: you’re out and about and happen to come across a yarn shop.

You decide to go in for a look (it would be rude not to) and, once you step inside, you’re overcome with colour!

Everywhere you look is covered in colour – walls, counter tops, window displays etc.

You can’t take it all in, you’re dizzy from excitement, the anticipation of touching all the yarn, squishing the skeins….

And then, with a bump, you remember you’re on a yarn diet.

So what do you do?

Out of the corner of your eye you spot the sock yarn section. You tentatively lift a ball, knowing full well what is about to happen…. what damage can one, little, colourful ball of 4ply do?

Look at it! Lying there all innocently!

You can’t buy it, your mind races with all the reasons you can’t take it home – you have enough yarn already, you don’t knit socks, you have one like it…..but you just can’t seem to put it down.

Like a mad woman, you slap your money on the counter and run crazily out of the shop, clutching the new precious, the shiny new yarn.

By the time you get home however, it’s a different story. What was I thinking!? I can’t take it back.  What am I going to do with it?

Dejected, you throw the poor little ball in a tub, with the other forgotten balls

And life continues.

Until, that is, inspiration strikes! Sock yarn doesn’t have to be just for socks! Knit gloves, mitts, shawls, hats, anything and everything!

Pull out that neglected ball and let it reach its full potential! (Or, just give it to me ;))
